Wow, it has been a long time coming... I have been slowly bringing updates to my plugin for filtering by both genre and MPAA ratings. I have also added support to show the DVD/Blu-Ray and Instant Play movies. This was kind of complicated and I have a few bugs to work out before I can release version 1.0!. It will be available for download on my codeplex project.
Once the blogengine version is done I am planning on porting it to wordpress since that is a widely used blog app. I was also thinking about porting it to facebook even though I am starting to despise facebook more and more every day.
Sharepoint 2010 - I started attending the Arizona Sharepoint Pros user group. It was great and I did learn a few things.
I am excited to see what is has to offer and that it might be feasible to actually do some development for it. Sharepoint 2007 development sucks.
One of the nice things about 2010 beta was how much simpler it has become to install. 2007 installation on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the most difficult was a 10!. All the Shared Service providers and the site collection to manage it. What a disaster. 2010 is like a 3. It was simple fairly fast and didn't require hours of configuration to get it to work. Good job on that one Microsoft.
Peace!

Well this is it. I completed my last exam last night and now tomorrow I do the walk. It seems like it took so long but now that it is done it doesn't seem to bad. Well now I need to set new goals and see what can be accomplished now.

I have finally released a beta version of my plugin. It has been a few months in development and it isn't perfect but functional. I created a project on codeplex to manage my open source project. Here is the link to the project page. Let me know if you have any issues in using the plugin or how it works and I will gladly explain it. I am working on additional documentation on the way the application interacts with Netflix to pull the data every hour from your netflix account.

I am happy to announce the beta version of MoviesForMyBlog plugin for the BlogEngine .Net. This is going to be exciting and as soon as I make sure the implementation is documented I am going to make it available to the public. Please post any comments you have or ideas. Please visit my new site http://moviesformyblog.com to get the latest news on this application. I have also noticed that BlogEngine .Net 1.5 is released and has better support for Jquery. I will be releasing a version of that plugin as well to simplify the scrolling through the last few movies to not have to post back.
A few goals are also to build these plugins for wordpress and another more popular blogging systems.
More to come....

The official release of my new BlogEngine .net plugin is really close. I have run into a few problems but as I was reading the upgrades in BlogEngine 1.5 with Jquery, that should resolve the problem I am having for the next release. If there are any netflix subscribers out there I hope you will find this plugin helpful. Please go to
http://moviesformyblog.com to get additional information. I will also be posting this plugin on CodePlex so people will be able to download the code if they want.

I am working on another plugin for BlogEngine. I know, it takes alot of time and energy but it is worth it. More information will be available on the plugin in a few weeks once I work out the bugs that I am experiencing and share it with everyone else. I am excited because this specific plugin is new venture for me and I have never used an API before. Just authenticating to an API can take awhile. Anyways I hope that I will get more people using the daily quote plugin and this new one I am working on. I like contributing web content and other programming code that people can use.
Peace out!
